In 2001, State Farm first sponsored the National Service-Learning Conference Awards Luncheon.  In 2003, the State Farm Companies Foundation awarded NYLC a three-year grant.  The grant has funded a variety of programs and projects promoting service-learning.  The National Service-Learning Conference showcases the best of service-learning as more than 2,500 teachers and students come together to share best practices.

The State Farm Companies Foundation provided a grant to NSLP in its founding year, 2001.  In 2003, NSLP was awarded a three-year grant sponsoring both the newsletters and other projects.  NSLP has been very visible with federal agencies and national organizations in providing a common definition and voice for its membership organizations.  NSLP is helping to develop service-learning projects with schools and community development corporations that address business issues important to State Farm.

In 2001, the State Farm Companies Foundation provided funds and became the presenting sponsor fo Global Youth Service Day (GYSD).  That same year it began funding Lead Agencies and State Farm Good Neighbor Service-Learning Grants.  Over time, the number of lead agencies increased to 75 and the number of Good Neighbor Service-Learning grants increased to 100.  YSA's work has increased the visibility of service-learning and State Farm as a major supporter of service-learning.
